Looking for Inspiration…

The other day we added a new member to our family, a teeny tiny netbook computer who has yet to be named, and she (of course it’s a girl; would you expect any differently from us?) came packed in between these two foam sheets:

foam-sheets

They’re each maybe 12×18 inches and 1.5 inches thick. I have NO idea what to do with them, and I’m not usually a packrat, but I have the feeling we could do something really fun with them…A craft? A game? Something?

Unfortunately, my decluttering personality is going to win this battle unless I come up with an idea for them by this weekend, and so I’m begging for your help! Got any ideas?

  1. I’d toss them. I don’t have a creative bone in my body.

  2. Wait. Could you use them as some type of mini bulletin board? Doll mattress?

    Ok. That’s all I’ve got.

  3. Hi mandi - I’m a new visitor to your blog - I don’t have any ideas for these cute foam things - i’m in clean out mode myself, but I just want to say hello!! We are homeschooling this year too - i really loved all your ideas with the very hungry catepillar - especially the felt board idea - so inexpensive and fun! See you around!! Blessings to you

  4. Hey Mandi! I agree with the first comment. I was thinking a bulletin board of some sort. Let us know what you decide! :)

  5. It looks like it has grooves…do they form some sort of trail? My first thought was to make a game…start at one end with the other end at a decline. Sort of like that Price is Right game - Plinko ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plinko ) You could make different cards for each ending slot … perhaps animals, letters of the alphabet, addition or subtraction problems, etc. based on what your girls are learning. The girls could *win* something if they get the answer right.
