Cooking with the Kiddos – Mini Pizzas

by Mandi on September 16, 2008

Can I admit something? I really, really don’t like cooking with my kids. It sounds all wonderful and supermom-like to bake together, but I just really don’t like it. However, I do think it’s an opportunity for a lot of great lessons, and I’m committed to doing it at least once a week with the girls as part of our latest attempt at preschool.

I mentioned to my friend Carrie that I was not enjoying our baking as much as I hoped we would, and she mentioned these mini pizzas, which I had completely forgotten about. We made them a week or so ago, and while I still wouldn’t rate cooking with the girls on my top ten list of favorite activities, it was actually kinda fun!

“Can I help too?”

Oh, your girls are still small. Cooking gets much more fun when they are older. It’s soo much better when you can ask, “Are the brownies done yet?” LOL My youngest is 13 and loves to cook. She often bakes things for us – unassisted! Whoo hooo! :)
