Free Art Challenge: Pipe Cleaners

We have tons and tons and tons of pipe cleaners, and we’ve used them for monster hair, monster arms and legs, needles for our sewing cards and a few other projects, but we haven’t done much beyond that.

As part of my new free art challenge, I pulled out a bunch of pipe cleaners in a variety of colors for Pumpkin Doodle this morning and watched her twist and experiment with them for 35 minutes or so.

This afternoon, I’m going to let her look through some of these “pipe cleaner crafts” I found through Google to help her see what she can create with them, but I’m going to let her decide what she wants to make and how she wants to make it and just be there to help her if she gets stuck.

Got any pipe cleaners lying around? Join us this week for the Free Art Challenge. I’ll share pictures on Friday of what she comes up with, and I hope you’ll share some as well. If there’s enough interest, I’ll add a Mr. Linky (and if anyone has an idea for a “Free Art Challenge” button, I’d love any help I could get!).
