Jingle Bell Mitts

These jingle bell mitts are one of my favorite Christmas projects. Before we started, we talked about how the story of Christmas brings us so much joy and that ringing bells is a way we can show our joy.

To make, trace a mitten outline of your child’s hand on a piece of felt. Double it up and cut out both mitten halves together. Stitch or glue the two halves together and then sew a bell – or bells – around the fingertips.

The hardest part of this project is making sure you leave the opening at the bottom big enough to fit the hand through. I never quite do that right, and these are a little bit short because I had to cut off the bottom to make the opening wider. Oops!
