Styrofoam Monsters

I first saw this great project over at Polliwog’s Cakewalk, and I couldn’t wait to get everything together to do it with the girls. Today was the perfect day to sit outside and make our styrofoam monsters. The girls chose their own materials from Daddy’s jar of “extras.” I did have to help them with some of the assembly, but they had a lot of fun trying to use the tools, and they love their finished “monsters.”

  1. Those are TOOO CUTE Mandi! How fun! Where’d you get the styrofoam, craft store? BR/BR/On a side note… I can’t stand to throw a SINGLE thing that the kids make (art-wise) away, so I have to ask what you do with all of these things when they’re done? :P I would have nightmares if I threw anything away *blush*

  2. I already talked to Chrissy about this, but in case anyone else is wondering, I do just give or throw most crafts away. I take pictures of most of them, but I’m just not sentimental like that for the most part. If my kids end up in therapy, we’ll know why…BR/BR/And I used styrofoam from my new electric griddle. They were actually long pieces, and we broke them in half and then looked for the side that seemed like the best surface to start a face on. :P

  3. Those are some cute monsters! Isn’t it fun seeing what they come up with? I love the screw driver action!
