Sidney Hope Has Arrived!
Sidney Hope was born at 2:28 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, September 12th, after about 5.5 hours of labor. It was an *interesting* labor, for sure, and I hope to get around to typing up that story as soon as I finish processing it in my head!
She is 20″ long and weighed in at 6 lbs. 13 ozs., one ounce smaller than Monkey Doodle, who was our smallest baby until now!
I’ve decided to christen her “Sunshine Doodle” here at Doodles’ Place for two reasons. One, you may remember that after my miscarriage in December, I posted the video of the song Praise You in the Storm. Having my third miscarriage was definitely a storm I didn’t want to walk through, but I chose to praise my God in the midst of it, and this beautiful girl is the Sunshine after the storm.
On a lighter note, a few minutes after she was born, Sean looked out the window at what had been kind of a gloomy, grey day and said, “Look, Sidney, you brought the sunshine with you!” That sealed it!
