A Look at Wreaths – Christmas in July

Wreaths are used during Christmas to represent the eternity of God (a circle without beginning or end) as well as the everlasting life we have in Christ (symbolized by the evergreen boughs). An advent wreath is laid on a table top and includes four candles, one of which is lit in each of the weeks leading up to Christmas to symbolize the growing anticipation of the arrival of the Light of the World.br /br /These are two of my favorite wreath crafts to do with the girls.br /br /br /div align=”center”img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219939516834816802″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SHDzVYn2oyI/AAAAAAAAAYI/6v4FtzM8-io/s320/handprint+wreath.gif” border=”0″ /emspan style=”font-size:78%;”Picture courtesy of EnchantedLearning.com because I can’t find any pictures of ours!/span/em/divbr /stronga href=”http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/christmas/handwreath/”Handprint Wreath/a/strongbr /Simply trace a handprint on a piece of construction paper and then cut it out to use as a template. Continue cutting out enough handprints until you have enough to form a wreath (about 10). Glue the handprints together at the palm/wrist area. Decorate with glitter glue, poppoms or other embellisment and finish off with a bow.br /br /br /br /img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219939519273768178″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SHDzVhtWFPI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/ebkWm3NIYiQ/s320/Pretzel+Wreath!.JPG” border=”0″ /br /strongPretzel Wreath/strongbr /This is a yummy and fun project as well. Melt baker’s chocolate or almond bark (chocolate or white chocolate – both work!). Some recipes call for the whole pretzel to be dipped before attaching them together, but we just dipped the fatter half of ours and then stuck them together in a circle, adding a second alternating row on top. You can sprinkle them with sprinkles (you’ll want to work fast and do it in sections before the chocolate hardens), thread a ribbon through the wreath or use Mamp;Ms or other candy to decorate the wreath. I’ve also seen some versions that make smaller wreaths, which would make cute individual servings!br /br /br /a href=”http://www.mylivesignature.com/” target=”_blank”img style=”BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none” src=”http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54486/128/0E4A8EA9D2A4A002FC32D3D163051882.png” //abr /br /br /––––-–––––-––––––––-–––––––-––––-––––––-–-––––––-–––-–-–––br /span style=”font-size:85%;”Check out /spana href=”http://mythreedoodles.blogspot.com/2008/06/did-someone-say-tastykake-this-weeks.html”span style=”font-size:85%;”this week’s giveaway/span/aspan style=”font-size:85%;”: An assortment of yummy fresh Tastykakes!/spanIstrong/strong
