And more than that, let’s commit to teaching our children to respect him embecause/em he is the president. The politics of the last 16 years, with one side loathing and saying horrible things about Clinton and the other side doing the same to Bush, has got to go. He is not the president-elect I hoped for, and I do not agree with a lot of his policies, but he emis/em the president-elect, and the office deserves respect and needs our prayer.br /br /And, a href=”http://mythreedoodles.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-wish-he-was-my-candidate.html”as I said before/a, while I have a heavy heart considering how an Obama presidency might affect the lives of the unborn and newborn, I am excited that our country elected its first African-American president by a landslide. We’ve come a long way since Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech 45 years ago, and I’m thankful for that.br /br /Jess has a great a href=”http://makinghome.blogspot.com/2008/11/post-election-day-meme.html”post-election meme/a over at a href=”http://makinghome.blogspot.com/”Making Home/a that you might want to check out, and she closes with this:br /br /emMay God bless America during the next four years. In both good times and in times of suffering, and in the times when we are delighted and the times when we are discouraged, God is good and has a plan that we can rest in, for individuals and for nations. /embr /br /strongFather, “may all the peoples praise You!” We ask for wisdom and grace to be poured out on Barack Obama. That he will lead honorably, that he will protect the people’s ability to live peaceably and quietly. We ask that You will move his heart towards mercy for the unborn. We thank You for Your sovereign hand that leads us in all times.br /br /We ask for grace for our nation, that Your will will be done in all things, and that You would allow us to act in accordance with Your will. Use this next four years to sharpen and change us into Your likeness. Continue to teach us how to honor You and be thankful in all circumstances. “May all the peoples praise You, O Lord!” Thank you for Your grace and peace. 1. I agree. He deserves respect. I will respect him and ya know what, maybe we that didn’t vote for him will have to learn to rely on God a little more than we do! And pray more!

  2. Though I, too, did not vote for him, God clearly states that He is the one who raises up kingdoms and brings them down. So God is allowing Obama to be in power for a purpose.
