Birthday Cards for Pop
While we were making a href=”http://mythreedoodles.blogspot.com/2008/05/mothers-day-craft.html”Mother’s Day flowers/a for my mom, we also made cards for my step-dad’s birthday, which we celebrated on Sunday. divbr /divI drew “POP” in bubble letters on a piece of span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_0″cardstock/span and colored it in with a marker to provide a background, and then we began gluing noodles to it. I was actually surprised that Monkey Doodle didn’t like it as much as I had expected, but now that I think about it, she really prefers the spreading-the-glue part of gluing projects more than the actual project itself. span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_1″Pumpkin Doodle/span did really great. I think I’d like to do another craft time soon and just let them glue the noodles without any guidelines and see how that goes./divdiv/divbr /divAnyway, here are the finished cards:/divbr /div/divimg id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5198844397297453826″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SCYBb0dxywI/AAAAAAAAAGM/I7mm0gag_Ek/s320/Pop+Birthday+2.JPG” border=”0″ / divOn another note, I remember when I first realized that many people saw the word “step-dad” as having a negative connotation, as if I was using it to mean “the man who is not my dad.” The truth, though, is that I’m proud to call him my step-dad. To me, it means “the man who chose to be my dad.” I’m sure his picture of an ideal wife didn’t include an eight-year-old span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_2″tag-along/span, but he’s loved me as his own for as long as I can remember, and I don’t know of any difference in the way he loves me as compared to his “biological” daughters. And he IS my girls’ grandfather, plain and simple. I’m not sure there could ever be a better step-dad, and I wish every child with a step-parent could be as lucky as I am!/divbr /img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5198844697945164562″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SCYBtUdxyxI/AAAAAAAAAGU/3KQPSOnkdEY/s320/Pop+and+His+Girls+blog.JPG” border=”0″ /br /div/divdiva href=”http://www.mylivesignature.com/” target=”_blank”img style=”BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none” src=”http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54486/128/0E4A8EA9D2A4A002FC32D3D163051882.png” //a/div/div
