Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

by Mandi on May 20, 2008

These cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips are one of our favorite afternoon snacks. I usually start them at lunch time because they crisp up as they cool and are ready by snack time. Although part of the fun of a href=”http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=50121amp;campaign=NLC-NL_Recipeamp;link=Section2Link2″Family Fun’s recipe/a is using cookie cutters to make shapes out of the tortillas, I find that this really takes too much time to do on an everyday basis, and cutting them with a pizza cutter is much faster and easier.br /br /We usually serve them with either apple or strawberry slices. I haven’t yet tried a href=”http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Annies-Fruit-Salsa-and-Cinnamon-Chips/Detail.aspx”this fruit salsa recipe from AllRecipes.com/a, but it sounds delicious as well.br /br /Take a couple of plain flour tortillas (we usually do one per person) and lightly coat them with oil. I’ve been using spray olive oil lately and really like it, and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.br /br /img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202265102794842978″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SDIojFd_Y2I/AAAAAAAAAKM/DcyuVxl3E_c/s320/Making+Cinnamonn+Chips+2.JPG” border=”0″ /br /pNext, take a pizza cutter and cut the tortilla into chip-sized pieces. Spread the pieces in a single layer. /ppimg id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202265102794842994″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SDIojFd_Y3I/AAAAAAAAAKU/wyq9bkzABlE/s320/Making+Cinnamonn+Chips+4.JPG” border=”0″ //ppBake at 350 for 5-7 minutes until the edges begin to curl. Eat warm or wait until they cool and get crispy. Enjoy!br /br //ppa href=”http://www.mylivesignature.com/” target=”_blank”img style=”BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none” src=”http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54486/128/0E4A8EA9D2A4A002FC32D3D163051882.png” //a/p

adam’s mom gave me a recipe for fruit salsa that is super easy and super good. she got it off of http://www.bedandbreakfast.com but i can never find it when i go there. if you want it, i can email it to you. if you cut the tortillas into eighths, it makes them more “dippable” for salsa.

Mmm, I can’t wait to try these! I think I’ll have to go the pizza cutter route, too.

What a great idea. I actually have tortillas (they are sitting in my pantry for a while) , now i have something to make with them that does not cost money and i have all the ingredients. Also perfect for snack for my 3 boys ( ages 8, 4, 21 months).BR/Estera John
