On Saturday, our good friends Kim and Matt came up to spend the day with us. We had a great time catching up, as it’s been a while since we saw them and even longer since we got to spend some one-on-one time with them.br /br /For Kim’s birthday, I wanted to make her a “gift” cupcake. She is the absolute best gift giver I’ve ever met. Every time we receive a gift for her, I am amazed at how perfect the gift is, without us ever mentioning it or even necessarily knowing about it.br /br /For my birthday this year, she gave me a CVS giftcard and two awesome books (which I plan to post about later because you all emneed/em to know about these books). If you could have seen how excited I was when I opened the gift card…br /br /Anyway, it seemed like perhaps the easiest way to do a ribbon/bow was fondant, but the original recipe for authentic fondant was more than overwhelming to me. However, this marshmallow fondant was really fairly easy, tasted yummy and turned out pretty cute, I think, especially since it was my first time making it.br /br /img id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212765097614794818″ style=”DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center” alt=”" src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PoXHVGzLUGI/SFd2POTiYEI/AAAAAAAAARc/vSEFqkVMf9k/s320/Fondant+Cupcakes+blog.JPG” border=”0″ / p align=”center”emspan style=”font-size:85%;”(I am not very happy with this picture, but it’s the best I took of them.br /I should have taken more!)/span/em/pbr /pFrom what I understand, you cannot use this fondant to make figures or 3-D decorations, but for flat decorations or covering a (cup)cake, it works perfectly. If you try it, tell me what you think and send pictures (or a link to your blog!) so I can post them!/pbr /br /a href=”http://www.mylivesignature.com/” target=”_blank”img style=”BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none” src=”http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54486/128/0E4A8EA9D2A4A002FC32D3D163051882.png” //abr /br /br /––––-–––––-––––––––-–––––––-––––-––––––-–-––––––-–––-–-–––br /span style=”font-size:85%;”Check out /spana href=”http://mythreedoodles.blogspot.com/2008/06/and-this-weeks-favorite-things.html”span style=”font-size:85%;”this week’s giveaway/span/aspan style=”font-size:85%;”: A $25 gift certificate to /spana href=”http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFClick.asp?affiliateID=129253amp;merchantID=2533amp;programmeID=6755amp;mediaID=0amp;tracking=amp;url=http://www.duckduckgooseboutique.com/”span style=”font-size:85%;”Duck Duck Goose Boutique/span/aspan style=”font-size:85%;”!/span p/p
